LOSE 5 POUNDS FAST!
Look your most beautiful self and lose 5 pounds fast with this quick posture tune-up. Stand sideways to a mirror so you can see the difference this makes.
Stand with your feet parallel, hip-width apart, weight evenly distributed between your feet. Lengthen your legs and spine all the way up through the back of your neck.
Do three giant reverse shoulder rolls and relax your shoulders. Shake our your wrists, as you imagine releasing all the tension in your body. Then, let your arms hang directly at your sides, palms facing in.
Draw your chin straight back, keeping your head level and pull your lower rib cage inward, feeling a lengthening in your lower back.
Take three full deep breaths and feel your belly expand. As you exhale completely, draw the belly button in toward the back of your spine. Continue to softly hold your belly inward, about 3 on a scale of 1-10.
Look sideways at the mirror and notice if you look taller and slimmer. As you practice this posture tune-up regularly and work to maintain it, you’ll also tone your deeper abdominal muscles. Get in the habit of tuning up your posture, whenever you’re standing and waiting. I practice in grocery lines or as I wait for the ATM machine. You can also say a positive affirmation silently to yourself. I enjoy repeating, ”I am tall; I am strong.”
